It opened about two years ago and has been getting more popular since then.

The Mana Contemporary Art Center is located in Jersey City, New Jersey on June Street between Spring and Montgomery Streets.  They have an opening reception every spring for the Jersey City Arts Summit where they bring in artists from around the world to display their artwork at this new building which holds 450 people including 350 standing room tickets. Most of what you will see at the Mana Contemporary Art Center are paintings by modern-day painters that use a lot of colors or a certain color palette to play off one another to create a theme for each exhibition hall that aims to excite everyone's five senses –sight, taste, touch, smell, and hearing – with the culture of the modern art world.

The Mana Contemporary Art Center was started by its President James Palermo, who dreamed about hosting exhibitions for artists from around the world to display their pieces in an area where they are openly accepted.  He made it his mission to make this dream come true since he was a young man starting out in the New York City real estate business. He thought that it would be a great idea to build a building that would hold many paintings, sculptures, and other artwork by contemporary artists in order to help grow the community through education, entertainment, and enjoyability. The Mana Contemporary Art Center is open Tuesday through Sunday but closes at 6 pm on weekdays so people can still go see galleries during operating hours without the extra traffic jams.
