New Jersey City University is a specific university located in Jersey City, New Jersey. The following information is related to its history and location.

New Jersey City University is originally named Hudson County Community College. Its original building was formerly used by the public school system of Jersey City during the late 1950s and 1960s. The college started operating on September 18th, 1965. In 1966, it was officially opened and started accepting students. It gained local accreditation from the Middle States Association in 1970 and then permission to offer four-year degrees in 2011.

The campus comprises 13 buildings across an area of 50 acres making it relatively small compared to other state universities such as Rutgers University, which covers an area of 563 acres (2km sq).

The institution offers many courses in English, Mathematics, Business, and Computer science. It also offers the following non-degree programs to students;

Early Childhood Education Program (ECEP) is designed for children between three and four years old.

Graphic Design Certificate Program is offered. The program teaches graphic design students how to use Adobe Photoshop CS5 software to create logos, brochures, websites, booklets among other designs.

It also offers an Associate of Arts Degree that takes up to about two years to complete. With the completion of this degree, students can transfer into a bachelor's degree program at any university in the New Jersey state system.
